Overview of IPv6 ACLs

An IPv6 access control list (ACL) is used to filter IPv6 traffic.

An IPv6 ACL filters IPv6 traffic using matching conditions and the permit or deny action.

An IPv6 ACL consists of matching conditions and an action:

• Matching conditions: The FW supports multiple types of matching conditions, such as IPv6 source addresses, IPv6 destination addresses, and protocol types.
• Actions: apply to matched traffic. Two actions are supported: permit and deny.
  

  An IPv6 ACL must be referenced to take effect. The meanings of permit and deny defined in an IPv6 ACL vary according to the features that reference the IPv6 ACL.
