Clearing a Configuration File

You can use commands to clear the configuration file that is currently loaded, or clear the inactive configurations of the boards that are not installed in slots.

Context

You need to clear the configuration file that is currently loaded in the following cases:

  • After the device software is upgraded, the software does not match the configuration file.

  • The configuration file is damaged, or the device is loaded with an incorrect configuration file.

Procedure

  • Clear the configuration file that is currently loaded.

    reset saved-configuration

    • If the configuration file of the FW used for the current startup is the same as that used for the next startup, running the reset saved-configuration command will clear both the configuration files. The FW will uses the default configuration file for the next startup.
    • If the configuration file of the FW used for the current startup is different from that used at the next startup, running the reset saved-configuration command will clear the configuration file used for the current startup.
    • If the configuration file of the FW used for the current startup is empty, the system will prompt you that the configuration file does not exist after you run the reset saved-configuration command.

After the configuration file is cleared, if you neither use the startup saved-configuration command to specify a configuration file that contains correct configurations, nor use the save command to save the current configurations in use, the FW initiates with default parameter settings upon the next startup.
