Configuring Devices and Device Groups Using the Web UI

This section describes how to configure devices and device groups on the web UI.

Currently, the FW imports devices only from the Agile Controller server. In Agile Controller SSO scenarios, to import user information, including the device types of users, on the Agile Controller server into the FW, you need to set required parameters for communication between the FW and the Agile Controller server. For details, see section Configuring a Agile Controller Server in the product documentation.

Configuring Devices

By default, the FW has no devices, and therefore you need to import devices from the Agile Controller server.

Choose Object > Device > Device.

Click Edit to set required parameters to import devices from the Agile Controller server.

Authentication Server	Select a server name or click Add to create a server. The server defines parameters for communication between the FW and Agile Controller servers.
Overwrite local records if specified device types exist	If the device type exists and you select this check box, the FW will update the device type by overwriting it. If you do not select the check box, the FW will skip the device type. The predefined device group configuration is synchronized from the Agile Controller server during the import of the device configuration. The devices are added to corresponding device groups. If this parameter is not set, new devices do not belong to any device group.

The predefined device group configuration is synchronized from the Agile Controller server during the import of the device configuration. The devices are added to corresponding device groups. If this parameter is not set, new devices do not belong to any device group.

Click Import.

Configuring Device Groups

By default, the FW has three predefined device groups, namely, pc, mobile-terminal, and undefined-group. After importing devices from the Agile Controller server, the FW will automatically assign them to specific predefined device groups. You can also define device groups and add imported devices to these groups.

Choose Object > Device > Device Group.

Click Add and set device group parameters.

Click OK to view the created device groups.
