Overview of Dynamic Domain Name-based Routes

Definition

A dynamic domain name-based route is a specific route generated based on a domain group.

Purpose

When a firewall functions as an egress gateway, you need to configure multiple specific routes on the firewall to meet the multi-egress link selection requirements. However, destination addresses are not fixed. When destination addresses change, you need to delete existing routes and then configure routes based on the new destination addresses, leading to low O&M efficiency.

After the dynamic domain name-based route feature is enabled, the firewall can obtain IP addresses from the DNS server based on domain names and dynamically generate specific routes. These generated specific routes will be automatically deleted once the corresponding IP addresses obtained from the DNS server age.
