Maintaining Hot Standby
After hot standby is configured, you can run the display commands to check the hot standby status. If necessary, perform maintenance operations such as the active/standby switchover and active/standby configuration modification.

Checking the Hot Standby Status

After hot standby is configured, you can run the display hrp state command to check the hot standby status, including the role, priority, bandwidth usage of the heartbeat interface, last status switching information, hot standby configuration parameters and function status, and status of the items monitored by VGMP groups on the local and remote ends.

Checking the Heartbeat Interface Status

After hot standby is configured, you can run the display hrp interface command to check the configuration and the working status of the heartbeat interface.

Checking Historical Information About Hot Standby Status Changes

After hot standby is configured, you can run the display hrp history-information command to view historical information about the hot standby status changes, including the Up/Down of the heartbeat link and the status change of the VGMP group.

Forcible Active/Standby Switchover

In addition to the active/standby switchover triggered by fault events, you can run the hrp switch command to forcibly perform the active/standby switchover. The forcible active/standby switchover method is used to check whether the link of the standby device is normal during device maintenance. It is not recommended to use this method in other cases.

Modifying Configurations on the Active and Standby Devices for Consistency

The configuration consistency check function is used to check whether the key configurations of the active and standby FWs are consistent. If they are inconsistent, change them to the same value to prevent service exceptions after the active/standby switchover.
