Monitoring L2TP

This section describes how to check the number of established L2TP tunnels and information about each L2TP tunnel.

  1. Choose Network > L2TP > Monitor.
  2. Click Refresh. You can view the following information about established L2TP tunnels.

    Parameter

    Description

    Local Tunnel ID

    Local tunnel ID generated during the L2TP VPN tunnel negotiation phase.

    Peer Tunnel ID

    Peer tunnel ID generated during the L2TP VPN tunnel negotiation phase.

    Local Address

    IP address used by the local device to establish an L2TP VPN

    Peer Address

    IP address used by the peer device to establish an L2TP VPN

    Port

    UDP port number used by the peer device. If the local device serves as an LAC, the UDP port number of the peer device is fixed to 1701.

    Number of Sessions

    Number of L2TP sessions over the tunnel

    Peer Tunnel Name

    Peer tunnel name

    Disconnect

    Forcibly closed tunnel connection

    • You can click of the specific L2TP tunnel to disconnect the tunnel and clear all control connections and sessions over the tunnel.
    • You can click to disconnect all tunnels and all control connections and sessions over the tunnels.
