Enabling LLDP

Before configuring the LLDP function, you need to enable the LLDP function.

Context

LLDP can be enabled globally and on appropriate interfaces.

  • The LLDP function takes effect only after being enabled in both the system view and the interface view, and then an interface can send and receive LLDP packets.

  • By default, the LLDP function is disabled both globally and on appropriate interfaces. When LLDP is enabled in the system view, the function on all interfaces is automatically enabled.

  • When LLDP is disabled in the system view, LLDP is disabled on all interfaces and the commands for enabling and disabling LLDP on an interface do not take effect.

  • Only physical interfaces support LLDP.

  • On an Eth-Trunk, LLDP can only be enabled on member interfaces. LLDP status of a member interface does not affect that of another.
