Overview of IGMP

IGMP is used on the device connected to the user network segment to establish and maintain memberships.

Overview of IGMP: Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) has three versions: IGMPv1, IGMPv2, and IGMPv3. All three versions support the Any-Source Multicast (ASM) model, but only IGMPv3 supports the Source-Specific Multicast (SSM) model.

IGMP Features Supported: The IGMP features that the system supports are basic IGMP functions, Router-Alert option, IGMP query controller, SSM mapping, limit on the number of IGMP group memberships, and filtering of IGMP Report messages based on source addresses.
