Configuring a FW to Send IGMP Packets Without the Router-Alert Option

If other IGMP interfaces on the same network segment with the user host need to receive the IGMP messages without Router-Alert options, you can configure the multicast device connected to the user network segment to send IGMP messages containing no Router-Alert options. By default, the multicast device sends IGMP messages containing Router-Alert options.

Prerequisites

Before configuring a FW to send IGMP packets without the Router-Alert option, complete the following task:

Context

By default, the IGMP packets sent by FWs contain the Router-Alert option.

To configure a FW to send the IGMP packets without the Router-Alert option, perform the following steps on the FW connected to hosts.

The configuration involves the following cases:

  • Global configuration: It is valid on all interfaces.

  • Configuration on an interface: The configuration on an interface takes precedence over the global configuration. If the interface is not configured, the global configuration is used.

Procedure

  • Global Configuration
    1. Access the system view.
