Enabling PIM-DM
To enable a FW to set up PIM neighbor relationships with other devices, enable PIM-DM on an interface of the FW.
Context
PIM-DM and PIM-SM cannot both be enabled on an interface. All interfaces in the same instance on a FW must run the same PIM mode. When FWs reside in PIM-DM domains, enable PIM-SM on all non-boundary interfaces.
Procedure
- Access the system view.
- Access the interface view.
interface interface-type interface-number
- Enable PIM-DM.
After PIM-DM is enabled on the interface and the PIM neighbor relationship is set up between FWs, the protocol packets sent by the PIM neighbors can be processed.
