Configuring the Interval for Overriding the Prune Action

When a device sends a Prune message to the upstream in the same network segment, if other devices still need to receive the multicast data, the device must send a Join message upstream within the override-interval.

Prerequisites

Before adjusting control parameters for prune, complete the following tasks:

Configuring a unicast routing protocol
Configuring Basic PIM-DM Functions

Procedure

Global Configuration
1. Access the system view.
  system-view
2. Access the PIM view.
  pim [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name ]
3. Set the interval for overriding the prune action.
  hello-option override-interval interval
  
  When a FW sends a Prune message to the upstream FW in the same network segment, if other FW still requests the multicast data, it needs to send a Join message to the upstream FW in the override-interval period.
Configuration on an Interface
1. Access the system view.
  system-view
2. Access the interface view.
  interface interface-type interface-number
3. Set the interval for overriding the prune action.
  pim hello-option override-interval interval
