Enabling IP Multicast Routing

Prior to configuring all IPv4 multicast features, enable IPv4 multicast routing.

Context

The configuration related to the VPN instance is applicable only to the Provider Edge (PE) device. If the interface of the VPN instance connects to the host, run the commands in step 3 and step 4.

Procedure

Access the system view.
system-view
Enable IP multicast routing in the public network instance.
multicast routing-enable
(Optional) Access the VPN instance view.
ip vpn-instance vpn-instance-name
(Optional) Enable the IPv4 address family for the VPN instance and access the VPN instance IPv4 address family view.
ipv4-family
(Optional) Enable IP multicast routing in the VPN instance IPv4 address family.
