Configuring the Default Local_Pref Attribute of the Local Router

The Local_Pref attribute is used to determine the optimal route for the traffic that leaves an AS. When a BGP4+ router obtains multiple routes to the same destination address but with different next hops from different IBGP peers, the route with the largest Local_Pref value is selected.

Procedure

  1. Access the system view.

    system-view

  2. Access the BGP view.

    bgp { as-number-plain | as-number-dot }

  3. Access the BGP IPv6 unicast address family view.

    ipv6-family unicast

  4. Set the default Local_Pref of the local router.

    default local-preference preference
