Configuring a Default Local_Pref Attribute for a Device

The Local_Pref attribute is used to determine the optimal route for traffic that leaves an AS.

Context

The Local_Pref attribute is used to determine the optimal route for traffic that leaves an AS. If a BGP device obtains multiple routes from different IBGP peers and these routes have different next hops to the same destination, the BGP device will select the route with the greatest Local_Pref value.

Procedure

  1. Access the system view.

    system-view

  2. Access the BGP view.

    bgp { as-number-plain | as-number-dot }

  3. Access the BGP IPv4 unicast address family view.

    ipv4-family unicast

  4. Set the default Local_Pref for the local router.

    default local-preference preference
