Configuring the LSP Fast Flooding

This describes how to configure the fast flooding of the enabled LSP to affect the aggregation rate of the IS-IS network. If the Level-1 or Level-2 is not specified, the fast flooding is configured by default.

Context

The LSP change results in the SPF re-calculation. Before the SPF re-calculation, by enabling the LSP fast flooding function, you can quickly flood the LSP re-calculated by the SPF, which greatly reduces the inconsistent LSDB time caused by the LSP synchronization among routers, and improves the fast convergence performance of the entire network.

Procedure

  1. Access the system view.

    system-view

  2. Access the IS-IS process view.

    isis [ process-id ]

  3. Enable the LSP fast flooding function.

    flash-flood [ lsp-count ] [ max-timer-interval interval ] [ level-1 | level-2 ] *

You can run the flash-flood command to accelerate the LSP flooding. You can set the number of LSPs for each flooding. The number is valid to all interfaces. If the number of LSPs to be sent is larger than the specified number, lsp-count LSPs are sent. If the timer is configured and it does not time out before the route calculation, LSPs floods immediately; otherwise, LSPs are sent when the timer times out.

During the configuration of the LSP fast flooding, if the level-1 or level-2 is not specified, the fast flooding is configured for level-1 and level-2 by default.
