Setting a MIME Header Group

The mail filtering profile references a MIME header group. You can add MIME headers that have the same control action the same MIME header group.

Procedure

  1. Choose Object > MIME Header Group.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Set MIME group parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Enter the name of a MIME header group. The name must be unique.

    Description

    Enter the description of the MIME header group. A proper description of the MIME header group helps the administrator understand the MIME header rules in the MIME header group and facilitates the selection, lookup, and maintenance of the MIME header group.

  4. In Rule, click Add.
  5. Set MIME header group rules.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Enter the name of a MIME header rule. The name must be unique.

    Description

    Enter the description of the MIME header rule.

    Field Matching Mode

    • Any: The MIME header group is matched as long as it contains the configured keyword.
    • Exact: The MIME header group is matched only when it is the same as the configured keyword.
    • Prefix: The MIME header group is matched only when it begins with the configured keyword.
    • Suffix: The MIME header group is matched only when it ends with the configured keyword.

    Field

    Enter the field name keyword of the MIME header.

    Value Matching Mode

    • Any: The MIME header group is matched as long as it contains the configured keyword.
    • Exact: The MIME header group is matched only when it is the same as the configured keyword.
    • Prefix: The MIME header group is matched only when it begins with the configured keyword.
    • Suffix: The MIME header group is matched only when it ends with the configured keyword.

    Value

    Enter the field value keyword of the MIME header.

  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Submit on the upper right of the page.

    The MIME header group does not take effect immediately after you create or modify it. You must click Submit on the upper right of the page to activate the configuration. To save time, you can commit the changes after all changes are made.

Follow-up Procedure

Check or release the reference between the MIME header group and mail filter profile.
  1. To check for MIME header group that is referenced by mail filter profiles, click View under References in the list of MIME header group.

  2. To release the reference between the mail filter profile and MIME header group, choose the mail filter profile and click Release.

    Click Release All, and then click OK, you can release all the references.
