A Message "The Web page cannot be displayed" Appears When a PC Attempts to Log In to the SSL VPN Gateway on a

This section describes how to resolve the fault that a message "The Web page cannot be displayed" appears after a user enters the IP address of the SSL VPN gateway configured on a FW in a web browser of a PC.

Symptom

A user enters the IP address of the SSL VPN gateway configured on the FW in a web browser and presses Enter. The PC displays a message "The Web page cannot be displayed."

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The route between the user's PC and the SSL VPN gateway is unreachable.

Cause 2: The IP address or port number of the SSL VPN gateway was changed.

Cause 3: Security policies were configured incorrectly.

Procedure

  • Cause 1: The route between the user's PC and the SSL VPN gateway is unreachable.

    On the user's PC, run the ping command to ping the virtual gateway IP address. If the ping fails, the route between the user's PC and the SSL VPN gateway is unreachable. Check network configurations and ensure that routing configuration is correct.

  • Cause 2: The IP address or port number of the SSL VPN gateway was changed.

    Contact the network administrator to obtain the correct IP address and port number of the SSL VPN gateway.

  • Cause 3: Security policies were configured incorrectly.

    1. Log in to the Web UI for the FW as the system administrator. In the navigation tree, choose Policy > Security Policy > Security Policy.
    2. In the displayed page, check the security policy configuration. If there is a security policy that disables the user from logging in to the SSL VPN gateway, change this security policy.
