This section describes whitelist types.
You can add source IP addresses and destination IP addresses to the whitelist on the FW. Table 1 describes whitelist types.
Type |
Description |
|---|---|
Source IP address |
The FW directly forwards the packets from a whitelisted source IP address without implementing the blacklist checks, content filtering, and anti-DDoS checks. When you whitelist a source IP address, you can also specify a protocol type or source port number for this source IP address. This configuration allows the FW to forward only the packets of the specified protocol type or source port from this source IP address. |
Destination IP address |
The FW directly forwards the packets destined for a whitelisted destination IP address without implementing the blacklist checks, content filtering, and anti-DDoS checks. When you whitelist a destination IP address, you can also specify a protocol type or destination port number for this destination IP address. This configuration allows the FW to forward only the packets of the specified protocol type or destination port number destined for this destination IP address. |
When you create the same whitelist entry for multiple times, the latest one takes effect.
