Limitations and Precautions for Upgrade Through USB

Hardware Requirements

The upgrade through USB function is supported by all models.

License Requirements

The upgrade through USB function is not license-controlled.

Restrictions

Save and back up the configuration file before the upgrade.

Power-off during the upgrade will result in an upgrade failure.
The CF card of the FW must be able to store upgrade files.
The USB flash drive cannot be removed during the upgrade to avoid data loss or damage to the file system.
The file system format of the USB flash drive is FAT32, and the standard of the hardware interface is USB 2.0 or USB 3.0.
Do not insert two USB flash drives for upgrade.
The name of the target system software in the USB flash drive must be different from that of the one running currently. Otherwise, the upgrade fails.
The names of the system software and configuration file to be upgraded in the USB flash drive must be in lower case. Otherwise, the upgrade fails.
When the FW with non-empty configuration has its system software and configuration file upgraded through the USB flash drive, enable automatic upgrade through the USB flash drive on the FW before inserting the USB flash drive; otherwise, automatic upgrade through the USB flash drive fails.

For the upgrade through a USB flash drive, ensure the compatibility between the USB flash drive and FW. The FW supports the following USB flash drives.
