Configuration Impact

After the BFD session is successfully set up, the command such as the description (configured using the description command) that is set before the BFD session is successfully created will be overridden if you reconfigure the command in the BFD session view.

Follow-up Procedure

After the BFD session view is displayed, you can perform the following operations:

  • Run the description command to configure the description of a BFD session.
  • Run the min-tx-interval command to set the expected minimum interval at which BFD packets are sent.

  • Run the detect-multiplier command to set the local detection multiplier of the BFD session.
  • Run the wtr command to set the WRT time for the BFD session.

Precautions

  • BFD binding should be created before using the bfd cfg-name command.
  • After the bfd cfg-name command is run, the BFD session view is displayed irrespective of whether the BFD session is Up.

  • After the functional parameters of the BFD session are set, you must run the commit command to make, the configurations take effect.

  • If the BFD session is in the Down state, after you run the bfd cfg-name command to enter the BFD session view and set functional parameters, the configurations can immediately take effect after being committed using the commit command.
