The cluster preempt delay command sets the preemption latency time for the business group.
The undo cluster preempt delay command restores the latency time to the default value.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
| interval | Specifies the business group preemption latency time. |
The value is an integer ranging from 60 to 1800, in seconds. |
By default, the business group preemption latency time is 60 seconds.
Usage Scenarios
The preemption mechanism is enabled for the business group by default. When the service master in a service group is faulty, the master service is re-elected. Other members compare their health status and priorities in sequence to elect a new service master. In general, you are advised to set a specific preemption delay to preserve backup time for route convergence and entry backup. If the value of the delay is too small, it may result in service anomaly.
Configuration Impact
When the preemption latency time is configured, the master/backup switchover is performed only after the latency time expires.
