description (ACL view)

Function

The description command adds a description for an ACL to describe its function.

The undo description command deletes the description of an ACL.

By default, the ACL has no description information.

Parameter Description Value
description Specifies the description of an ACL. It is a string of 1 to 127 characters.

A proper description helps further maintain and manage the ACL.

Example

# Add a description to ACL 3100.

<sysname> system-view
[sysname] acl 3100
[sysname-acl-adv-3100] description This acl is used in GigabitEthernet 0/0/1
