The hrp track interface command configures the VGMP group to monitor interfaces.
The undo hrp track interface command terminates monitoring interfaces.
hrp track interface interface-type interface-number
undo hrp track interface interface-type interface-number
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
interface-type interface-number |
Specifies the interface type and number. |
The interface type can be Layer-3 Ethernet, Layer-2 Ethernet, Layer-3 Eth-Trunk, and Layer-2 Eth-Trunk. |
By default, VGMP groups do not monitor interfaces.
Application Scenario
If the FW connects to routers in upstream and downstream directions, as the routers cannot transparently transmit VRRP multicast packets, you cannot add VRRP group interfaces to VGMP groups for monitoring. In this case, you must run the hrp track interface command to enable VGMP groups to monitor the interface status.
Configuration Impact
If an interface monitored by a VGMP group becomes faulty, the priority of the VGMP group will be reduced by 2.
Precautions
A VGMP group does not monitor any subinterface. There is no limit on the number of monitored Layer-3 Ethernet interfaces, Layer-2 Ethernet interfaces, Layer-3 Eth-Trunk interfaces, and Layer-2 Eth-Trunk interfaces.
The hrp track interface command enables VGMP groups to monitor the physical status, not protocol status, of interfaces. Therefore, you only need to run the hrp track command on the main interface with multiple subinterfaces.
