ipv6 enable (interface view)

Function

The ipv6 enable command enables the IPv6 capability on an interface.

The undo ipv6 enable command disables the IPv6 capability on an interface.

Usage Guidelines

You can perform related IPv6 configurations on an interface only after enabling the IPv6 capability in the interface view.

If the IPv6 capability is disabled on an interface, related IPv6 configurations are removed simultaneously.

Through the ipv6 enable command, you can only enable the IPv6 function and perform related IPv6 configurations on the interface. To make the interface be capable of forwarding IPv6 data, you must also run the ipv6 command in the system view to enable the IPv6 forwarding function. An interface is of the IPv6 forwarding function only when you enable the IPv6 in both the interface view and the system view.

By default, the IPv6 capability is disabled on an interface.
