Usage Guidelines

By default, the management VLAN auto-negotiation function is disabled.

In the cloud management campus solution, to manage cloud managed devices on the tenant network, the cloud management platform needs to allocate the ports for device management on these devices to the specified VLAN. After the management VLAN auto-negotiation function is enabled, the cloud management platform needs only to send the management VLAN ID to the FW. Then the FW sends the VLAN ID to the cloud switch through LLDP. The cloud switch then sends the management VLAN ID to the cloud AP. This ensures that the cloud managed devices use the specified VLAN ID for communication. In the cloud management scenario, after the FW connects to the cloud management platform, the cloud management platform enables the management VLAN auto-negotiation function, and this command only executes the enabling instruction delivered by the cloud management platform.

The management VLAN auto-negotiation function can be implemented only through physical interfaces. The connection type of the physical interface must be trunk. For an Eth-Trunk interface, after the connection type of the Eth-Trunk interface is set to trunk, the management VLAN auto-negotiation function is implemented through member interfaces. After the negotiation is successful, the Eth-Trunk interface allows the corresponding VLAN to pass through.

Example

# Enable the management VLAN auto-negotiation function for the FW in the cloud management scenario.
