Usage Guidelines

By default, non-standard PD compatibility detection is disabled.

Usage Scenario

After this function is enabled, the PSE can detect PDs that do not comply with 802.3af or 802.3at (or the FW affected by external factors considers a standard PD non-standard) and supply power to these PDs. If this function is disabled, the FW cannot supply power to non-standard PDs (including the standard PDs that are incorrectly identified as non-standard PDs).

After non-standard PD compatibility detection is enabled on an interface, the interface can supply power to both standard and non-standard PDs. The power supply to a standard PD is not affected after this function is enabled.

Precautions

The non-standard PD connected to an interface may be damaged after this function is enabled on the interface. Therefore, exercise caution when running this command. Before moving the FW, run the undo poe legacy enable command to disable non-standard PD compatibility detection.

Example

# Enable non-standard PD compatibility detection on GigabitEthernet 0/0/1.
<sysname> system-view
[sysname] interface GigabitEthernet 0/0/1
[sysname-GigabitEthernet0/0/1] poe legacy enable
