Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

For some non-standard and unclassified PDs, the power negotiation results may be different from the actual power required by the PDs. Setting the maximum output power of an interface protects the PD from overload and saves power.

Pre-Configuration Task

Run the poe enable command to enable PoE.

Understand the power of the PD connected to the interface.

Example

# Set the maximum output power of GE0/0/2 to 15000 mW.

[sysname] interface GigabitEthernet 0/0/2
[sysname-GigabitEthernet0/0/2] poe max-port-power 15000
