Function

The remote command configures the remote IP address assignment.

The undo remote command deletes the current setting.

Format

remote { address ip-address | service-scheme service-scheme }

undo remote

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
address ip-address Specifies the remotely assigned IP address. The value is in dotted decimal notation. -
service-scheme service-scheme Specifies the address pool used when the remote address is assigned. The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 99. Here, the address pool is configured in the authentication domain view. If the address pool number is not specified, the address pool 0 is adopted by default.

Usage Guidelines

Use the remote address command on the server to assign the IP address to the remote user. In this command specifies an IP address or an address pool.

To configure the remote end to obtain an IP address through negotiation, you must first enable the IP address negotiation function on the interface.

The remote end and the server must be directly connected (physically connected or logically connected).

You must run the shutdown command before you run the undo remote command on the interface.

Example

# Configure Virtual-Template 1 to assign an IP address 10.0.0.1 to remote end.
