The snmp-agent notification-log enable command enables the alarm logging function.
The undo snmp-agent notification-log enable command disables the alarm logging function.
By default, the alarm logging function is disabled.
Usage Scenario
When a device sends the alarms propagated through Inform messages, the target host is required to respond with Inform ACK messages. If the route between a device and the target host is unreachable because of link defaults, the device cannot get Inform ACK messages from the host. Run the snmp-agent notification-log enable command to enable the alarm logging function. The alarms propagated through Inform messages will be logged and the alarm logs will be cached in the log buffer to facilitate the target host synchronize the alarms generated in the event of host or link failures.
Precautions
Only the alarms propagated through Inform messages are required to be logged. The alarms propagated through trap messages do not need to be logged.
