The tunnel timer hello command sets an interval for sending Hello packets.
The undo tunnel timer hello command restores the default interval.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
interval |
Specifies an interval for sending Hello packets. |
The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 100000, in seconds. |
By default, Hello packets are sent every 60 seconds.
L2TP uses Hello packets to test tunnel connectivity. The LAC and LNS periodically send Hello packets to the peer end. If no response is received within a specific period, Hello packets are resent. If the number of Hello packet sending times exceeds five, the L2TP tunnel is disconnected and PPP sessions are deleted.
You can also run the tunnel timer hello command to change the interval for sending Hello packets.
You can configure different intervals on the LNS and LAC.
