Usage Guidelines

By default, the interval for a C-RP to send advertisement messages is 60s.

All C-RPs in a PIM-SM domain periodically send Advertisement messages to the same BootStrap router (BSR). The BSR can collect the integrated Rendezvous Point (RP)-Set.

This command functions in the same way as the c-rp interface-type interface-number advertisement-interval adv-interval command, except for the function range. The c-rp advertisement-interval interval command is global and valid for all FWs, whereas the c-rp interface-type interface-number advertisement-interval adv-interval command is valid only for a specified interface.

The system prefers the configuration done using the c-rp interface-type interface-number advertisement-interval adv-interval command. When the c-rp interface-type interface-number advertisement-interval adv-interval command is not run, the configuration done using the c-rp advertisement-interval interval command is used.

Example

# Set the interval for a C-RP to send Advertisement messages to 30s.
