The multicast routing-enable command enables the multicast function.
The undo multicast routing-enable command restores the default configuration.
By default, the multicast function is disabled.
After the undo multicast routing-enable command is run, all multicast configurations of the public network instance or a VPN instance are cleared. If multicast services are running in the instance, the multicast services are interrupted when this command is executed. To restore multicast services on the instance, you must re-configure the corresponding commands.
When the multicast function is not enabled, the FW cannot forward multicast packets.
The multicast function should be enabled in a VPN instance or public network instance before you configure all the multicast commands.
To enable multicast function in the VPN instance, the number of multicast VPN instance must not reach the upper limit. At present, the system supports a maximum of 1024 multicast VPN instances.
