ntp-service multicast-client

Function

The ntp-service multicast-client command configures the NTP multicast client mode.

The undo ntp-service multicast-client command cancels the NTP multicast client mode.

By default, the multicast client service is disabled.

Format

ntp-service multicast-client [ ip-address | ipv6 [ ipv6-address ] ]

undo ntp-service multicast-client [ ip-address | ipv6 [ ipv6-address ] ]

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
ip-address Specifies the multicast IPv4 address. By default, it is 224.0.1.1.
ipv6 ipv6-address Specifies the multicast IPv6 address. By default, it is FF0E::0101.

Usage Guidelines

Once being specified to receive NTP multicast messages on the current the interface, the local device auto runs the multicast-client mode.

Example

# Configure GE0/0/0to receive NTP multicast messages. The multicast address of the multicast packets is 225.0.1.1.

[sysname] interface GigabitEthernet 0/0/0
[sysname-GigabitEthernet0/0/0] ntp-service multicast-client 225.0.1.1
