peer description (MSDP)

Function

The peer description command adds the description text for an MSDP peer.

The undo peer description command restores the default configuration.

Format

peer peer-address description text

undo peer peer-address description

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
peer-address Specifies a peer address. The value is in dotted decimal notation.
text Specifies the description text. The value is a string with a maximum of 80 case sensitive characters.

Usage Guidelines

By default, an MSDP peer does not have the description text.

Usage Scenario

If multiple MSDP peers are configured, these MSDP peers cannot be differentiated only based on IP addresses. The peer description command can be used to configure description text for MSDP peers in order to identify MSDP peers.

Prerequisites

MSDP peers have been configured.

Example

# In the public network instance, add the description text ClientA for the FW 10.10.7.6 to specify that the FW is Client A.
