Usage Guidelines

By default, when receiving a new Join message from a group, the FW does not send an SA Request messages to an MSDP peer but waits to receive the next SA message.

When a FW receives a Join message, if neither the local (S, G) entry nor the related (S, G) entry exists in the SA cache, the FW enabled with this function immediately sends an SA Request message to the specified MSDP peer, instead of waiting for the SA message sent in the next period.

Before configuring the peer peer-address request-sa-enable command on the local FW, disable SA cache on the local FW and ensure that SA cache is enabled on the specified peer-address. The local FW can send the SA Request message to the peer and get the Response message.

Example

# In the public network instance, when a FW receives the Join message of a new group, it sends an SA Request message to MSDP peer 10.10.7.6 immediately.
