Usage Guidelines

By default, the timeout period during which the PIM interface waits to receive the Hello message from its neighbor is 105 seconds.

This command functions in the interface view in the same way as the hello-option holdtime command in the PIM view, except for the view. By default, if the configuration on the interface is not done, the value configured in the PIM view is used; otherwise, the value configured in the interface view is used.

You must run the multicast routing-enable command to enable the multicast function before using the command.

Example

# Set the timeout period during which GE 1/0/0 waits to receive Hello messages from its neighbor to 120 seconds.
<sysname> system-view
[sysname] multicast routing-enable
[sysname] interface GigabitEthernet 0/0/0
[sysname-GigabitEthernet0/0/0] pim hello-option holdtime 120
