Function

The pim sm command enables PIM-SM on an interface.

The undo pim sm command restores the default configuration.

Usage Guidelines

By default, PIM-SM is disabled on an interface.

After PIM-SM is enabled on interfaces, FWs can set up PIM neighbor relationships with each other and process protocol packets received from PIM neighbors.

After PIM-SM is enabled on an interface of the VPN instance on a FW, the interface or other interfaces of the VPN instance cannot be enabled with PIM-DM. The instance on a FW cannot be enabled with PIM-DM and PIM-SM simultaneously.

The multicast routing-enable command should be run in the public network instance view.
