The source-lifetime command specifies the timeout period of an (S, G) entry on the FW.
The undo source-lifetime command restores the default value of the timeout period.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
| interval | Specifies the timeout period of an (S, G) entry on the FW. | The value is an integer that ranges from 60 to 65535, in seconds. |
By default, the timeout period is 210 seconds.
A FW creates a timer for each (S, G) entry. The source-lifetime command is used to set the value of the timer. After receiving a multicast packet from S, the interface resets the timer. If the timer times out, the (S, G) entry is considered invalid.
If there is no special requirement, default values are recommended.
