Usage Guidelines

After configuring the usage permission of URL Filtering for the virtual system, the virtual system can also obtain the usage permission of DNS Filtering function.

By default, URL filtering is enabled on a virtual system.

If URL filtering is disabled on a virtual system:

  • The URL filtering profile-related configurations become invalid, but the system reserves all configurations. You can use display-related commands to view these configurations.

You can delete existing URL filtering profiles (excluding the default profile) but cannot create, clone, or modify URL filtering profiles.

  • URL category-related configurations are not affected and are still valid. For example, the URL category in the security policy is still valid as a matching condition.

You can still perform URL category-related configurations. For example, you can create, modify, and add URLs to URL categories.

  • If the virtual system administrator has accessed the URL filtering profile view when the root system administrator disables URL filtering on the virtual system, the configurations in the URL filtering profile view cannot be modified. The virtual system administrator cannot access the URL filtering profile view after exiting the view. To be specific, the system does not allow any modification of the existing URL filtering profile.

Example

# Disable URL filtering on virtual system vsys1.

<sysname> system-view
[sysname] vsys name vsys1
[sysname-vsys-vsys1] undo assign function url-filter
