Applying a DDNS Policy

Context

You can bind a DDNS policy to an interface to update the mapping between the domain name and an IP address and to start DDNS update.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.

  3. Run ddns apply policy policy-name [ fqdn domain-name ]

The DDNS policy is bound to the interface.

By default, no DDNS policy is bound to an interface.

For the DDNS server provided by the vendor at www.oray.com, if no FQDN to be updated is specified, the DDNS server will update all the domain names for the DDNS client's account. If the FQDN to be updated is specified, the DDNS will update only this FQDN.

  4. (Optional) Run ddns source-interface interface-type interface-number

The source interface that sends DDNS update requests is configured on the DDNS client, and the IP address of this interface is used as the source IP address of DDNS update requests.

By default, no source interface that sends DDNS update requests is configured on a DDNS client, and the IP address of the interface to which a DDNS policy is applied is used as the source IP address of DDNS update requests.

If the source interface specified in the ddns source-interface command is Down, the command configuration does not take effect.
