Usage Guidelines

As a security mechanism, intrusion prevention detects intrusions by analyzing network traffic and responds to intrusions accordingly to terminate the intrusion behaviors.

After you create an intrusion prevention profile, run the signature-set name command in the intrusion prevention profile view to configure a signature filter and run the exception ips-signature-id command to configure exception signatures.

After you configure the intrusion prevention profile, run the profile ips name command in the security policy rule view to make the intrusion prevention profile take effect.

Example

# Create intrusion prevention profile profile1.

<sysname> system-view
[sysname] profile type ips name profile1
