Configuring a Keyword Group

A keyword group is a set of keywords for data filtering. You must configure a keyword group before configuring the data filtering profile.

Context

The keyword group includes predefined keywords and user-defined keywords.
  • Predefined keywords include bank card numbers, credit card numbers, social security numbers, ID card numbers, mobile phone numbers, and confidentiality (including confidential, secret, and top secret).

  • User-defined keywords can be texts or regular expressions. For details on how to use the regular expression, see Rules of regular expressions.

The configured keyword group must be referenced in the data filtering rules. For details, see Step 4 in Configuring Data Filtering.

The FW has a default keyword group named default. You cannot modify or delete the default keyword group.

Procedure

  1. Choose Object > Keyword Group.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Set the name and description of the keyword group.

    Parameter Description
Name Name of the keyword group. The name must be unique. It will be displayed in the Keyword Group parameter column when you configure data filtering.
Description Description of the keyword group. A proper description helps you better understand the functions of keyword groups and facilitates selection, lookup, and maintenance.

  4. Configure predefined keywords.

The predefined keywords supported by the device are displayed in User-Defined of Keyword List. Such keywords include bank card numbers, credit card numbers, social security numbers, ID card numbers, mobile phone numbers, and confidentiality keywords.

To filter content by predefined keyword, enter a proper weight in Weight. If Weight is empty, the predefined keyword will not be filtered.

  5. Configure user-defined keywords.
    1. In Keyword List, click Add.
    2. Set the parameters of user-defined keywords.

      Parameter Description
Name Name of the user-defined keyword. The name must be unique.
Description Description of the user-defined keyword. A proper description helps you understand the meaning and function of the user-defined keyword.
Matching Mode Matching mode of the user-defined keyword
      • Text: Text keywords are easy to configure and are used for an exact match.
      • Regular Expression: A regular expression matches multiple keywords, and is used for a fuzzy match.
      Text

You can enter a keyword, such as abcde, #define, or danger.

      Regular Expression

You can use a regular expression to define keywords for data filtering. One regular expression defines multiple keywords. However, regular expressions must observe the Rules of regular expressions.

For example, abc.de can be abcade, abcyde, or abc8de.

Case-Sensitive Text or regular expression matching in a case-sensitive manner.
      Weight

Weight indicates the confidentiality and severity of a keyword. The greater the value is, the more important the keyword.

Weights of keywords that appear in the detected content are accumulated by count.

      NOTE:

If multiple user-defined keywords in a keyword group match the same keyword, the device adds all weights of those user-defined keywords after identifying the keyword.

For example, both abc.de and abcde match abcde. Upon identifying abcde once, the device adds weights of both abc.de and abcde.

    3. Click OK.

After the configuration is complete, the user-defined keyword is displayed in Pre-Defined of Keyword List.

    4. Repeat steps 5.a to 5.c to add multiple user-defined keywords.
  6. Click OK to complete the configuration of the keyword group.
  7. Click Commit on the upper right of the web page.

The created or modified keyword group does not take effect immediately. You need to click Commit on the upper right of the web page to activate the configuration. To save time, commit the configuration after you complete all operations on keyword group.
