Device models except the USG6635E/6655E, USG6680E and USG6712E/6716E support the PPPoE function.
License Requirements
The PPPoE function is not license-controlled.
Limitations
When the device functions as a PPPoE client, a static route with the dialer interface as the next hop is usually configured to ensure that traffic can be transmitted from the device. The PPPoE static route is irrelevant to the PPPoE client's dialup status. When PPPoE session works in permanent online mode and the PPPoE client fails to dial up, the static route still takes effect, which cannot ensure service reliability. Therefore, when using the PPPoE client dialup function, you are advised to also use the IP-Link function and associate the static route with the IP-Link to ensure service reliability.
The PPPoE client supports IPv6. The PPPoE Server does not support IPv6.
When the device functions as a PPPoE client, the VLANIF interface cannot be configured as a dialer interface.
