Configuring Dual Stack
Context
A dual-stack node can work in any of the following three modes:
- Runs only the IPv4 protocol and forwards IPv4 packets.
- Runs only the IPv6 protocol and forwards IPv6 packets.
- Runs both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and forwards both IPv4 and IPv6 packets.
Procedure
- Set IPv4 addresses for interfaces that forward IPv4 packets.
- Set IPv6 addresses for interfaces that forward IPv6 packets.
To enable an interface to forward IPv6 packets, enable IPv6 in both the system view and interface view.
- In the system view, run the ipv6 command.
- In the interface view, run the ipv6 enable command.
