Applying Port Pre-Allocation and Incremental Allocation to the NAT64 Scenario
This section describes how to apply port pre-allocation and incremental allocation to the NAT64 scenario.
A carrier provides single-stack IPv6 users with NAT64 for their access to IPv4 servers. Port pre-allocation and incremental allocation enable the device to assign port ranges to users in advance, reducing the number of output logs.
The FW can send syslogs to a log server. The log server parses the logs for user source tracing.
Figure 1 shows the application of port pre-allocation and incremental allocation in the NAT64 scenario. In this process:
- An IPv6 user initiates a request to a remote IPv4 server.
- The IPv4 server receives the packet from the IPv6 user.
- DNS64 resolves the domain name and address.
- A syslog server receives logs from the FW and analyzes and parses the log information for IPv6 user tracing.
