This section describes the requirements for establishing
a cluster.
Devices that can for a cluster must meet the following conditions:
All the devices are of the same model.
The performance of a single device in the cluster
is lower than that of the device when it is separately deployed.
Devices that join a cluster for the first time have only basic
configurations (such as IP addresses).
Except during upgrade, the software and patch versions
of devices in the cluster must be the same. If they are different,
errors will occur during synchronization among cluster members.
A cluster has a maximum of eight members. A device can join only
one cluster.
The license contents of cluster members must be the same. Otherwise,
services may be compromised. For example, in a scenario where the
number of license resources on the active device is greater than that
on the standby device, after services are switched to the standby
service, the number of license resources becomes insufficient. In
addition, the possibility that all services are centralized on one
device after active/standby switchover shall be considered.
