This section describes how to configure the negotiation timeout period.
In PPP negotiation, if the local end does not receive any response from the remote end within the specified timeout period, it resends a packet. This specified timeout period is called timeout interval.
If the negotiation timeout period is too long, link transmission efficiency decreases. If the negotiation timeout period is too short, unnecessary packet retransmission occurs, increasing the link load.
Therefore, the negotiation timeout period must be set properly.
