Overview of Schedule

A schedule defines time ranges. A policy can reference a schedule to filter traffic that passes through the FW within the schedule.

The FW supports the following types of schedules:
  • Periodic schedule

A periodic schedule is a fixed schedule within a week. The schedule occurs periodically at the interval of a week. A periodic schedule is determined by Start time, End time, and Weekly Validity Time.

Both Start time and End time are in hour:minute:second format. Suppose that the schedule starts from 00:00:00 and ends with 23:59:59.

For example, you can set a periodic schedule for employees to access the Internet only at 19:00:00 to 22:00:00 of every Friday.

  • One-time schedule

A one-time schedule is determined by a specified start and end time. A one-time schedule cannot occur periodically. A one-time schedule is determined by the combination of Start time and End time.

Both Start time and End time are in year/month/day hour:minute:second format. Suppose that the schedule starts from 00:00:00 and ends with 23:59:59.

For example, a one-time schedule can allow employees to access the Internet only from 19:00:00 tonight to 19:00:00 tomorrow evening.

A one-time schedule can have multiple time ranges:

Schedules with different names do not affect each other.
