Virtual Interface

Virtual systems can communicate using virtual interfaces.

Virtual interfaces are logical interfaces used for inter-virtual system communication. After a virtual system is created, the system automatically creates a virtual interface for the virtual system. The link layer and protocol layer of a virtual interface are always Up. For communication between virtual systems, each involved virtual interface must be added to a security zone in order to operate correctly.

Virtual interfaces are named in the format of Virtual-if+number, with the virtual interface of the public system numbered 0 (Virtual-if0). Other virtual interfaces are automatically numbered from 1.

As shown in Figure 1, the virtual interface of each virtual system is connected to the virtual interface of the root system through a "virtual link." You can consider virtual systems and the root system as independent devices, and virtual interfaces as communications interfaces between devices. Virtual systems can mutually communicate with each other and communicate with the root system by adding virtual interfaces to security zones and configuring routes and policies for "device communications."
