The bandwidth priority command sets the forwarding priority in a traffic profile.
The undo bandwidth priority command restores the default priority in a traffic profile.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
priority |
Specifies the forwarding priority. The greater the priority value, the higher the priority. |
The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 7. |
All models except USG6635E/6655E, USG6680E and USG6712E/6716E support this command.
The default forwarding priority is 4.
If traffic requires bandwidth higher than the guaranteed bandwidth but lower than the maximum bandwidth defined in a traffic profile, the traffic competes for bandwidth resources with traffic of the same type that is being processed using other traffic profiles. Packets with higher priorities are preferentially forwarded than the packets with lower priorities.
If the traffic forwarding priority is set to medium (4) in the traffic profile, traffic policing is used for bandwidth limiting by default; if the traffic forwarding priority is not set to medium (4), traffic shaping is used for bandwidth limiting by default. For more information about traffic policing and traffic shaping, see Traffic Shaping and Traffic Policing.
